Job Description Department: Nursing Title: Cardiology Clinic Staff Nurse

Job Summary:
To work within the cardiology team providing a comprehensive physical, psycho-social and spiritual care to patients seeking the cardiology clinics. To participate as a member of the nursing team carrying out all relevant forms of care in conjunction with other team members. Regularly to have responsibility for managing the nursing care delivery on specified shifts.
Responsibilities and duties:
· Ensure
patients are screened on arrival according to specialty such as Normal 12 leads
ECG, Thallium Stress Test, duplex or patient coming for cardiology
consultation.
· Ensure that consulting rooms are ready before
the doctors arrive for consultation.
· Ensure patient’s vital signs are taken prior to
directing them to the consulting room.
· Collaborate with the reception staff regarding
patients with appointments for specific specialties like cardiology clinic or
other procedures.
· Make sure the patients’ files are collected on
time from Medical Record office.
· Assist doctors and stay with patients until the
doctor completes the consultation (
especially with female patients)
· Provide assistance for patients who require
other services such as Phlebotomy and Radiology etc.
· Make sure patients who need assistance with
wheel chair and porters etc are promptly and appropriately assisted.
· Be aware of the ambulance policy.
· May be deployed in other departments if the
need arises.
Management Responsibilities:
· Meet daily with the head nurse to discuss area
matters.
· Liaise with support services regarding area
hygiene.
· Collaborate with cashier in ensuring that
consultation fees are correctly charged.
· Monitor the patient flow through the waiting
area and ensure proper sorting criteria.
· Share in preparing training program with assistance
of the Education Department.
· Perform the patient referral process (to ER, OR
other specialties) and document this.
· Make sure files are returned to Medical Records
before closing for the day.

Qualifications:
Education:
·
B.S.N,
Technical institute of nursing or degree in nursing.
Experience:
·
1 year experience
in primary health care departments is preferable.
Training:
·
Must be
registered with the Egyptian Syndicate or Nursing Council/Association of
country of origin.
·
Must
attend 50 hrs of mandatory in-service training in a contractual year.
·
Uphold
