Reports To:

Infection control Team, Quality Team, All HOD’s.Responsibilities and duties:
Nursing Practice / Patient care:
· Review and approved monthly schedule.
· Check staff attendance and review the schedule daily.
· Review the overtime and check attendance sheets.
· Ensure patient safety and confidentiality.
· Coordinate with the Anesthesia Consultant in all matters
concerning patient care.
· Prepare and submit statistics for operation classifications and
assist in delineating reasons for patient delays and delays in starting
procedures.
· Ensure effective utilization of the theatres by coordinating with
the Anesthetic Consultant.
· Prepare and/or modify policies and procedures in collaboration
with the Anesthesia and CNO.
· Participate in strategic and financial planning for each fiscal
year.
· Responsible for coordination of repairs in all equipment
and preventive maintenance service by Biomed and Engineering Departments.
· Responsible for requesting new equipment to replace broken or
obsolete medical equipment in collaboration with Biomed and the Anesthesia
consultant.
· Ensure that scrub suits are always available.

Advice Top Management in recruitment and retention of able consultants
· Prepare
and update departmental consultant roster in line with OR director
·
Ensure manipulate of fabric intake in step with budgetary goals and help the
Purchase branch in discount of fee fee of clinical supplies

Participate in annual Governance Council displays and put
together annual departmental budgets
·
Keep music of all departmental Key overall performance signs and set
off first-class development projects
· Provide
50 hrs. of in– provider education annually improvement and ordinary evaluation of
staff
Management Responsibilities:
· Hold department meetings on monthly bases and when necessary and
report to CNO, submit minutes of the meetings.
· Interview new local hire nursing staff and provide feedback to the
CNO.
· Conduct monthly inventory of equipment and keep documentation of
inventory.
· Check the OR booking book daily.
· Give daily feedback on all OR events to the CNO.
· Do performance appraisals for all probation periods and yearly
performance appraisals.
· Prepare staff development and retention plan.
Clinical Governance:
· Do random concurrent patient document audits, paying attention to
intra-operative records.
· Ensure accurate and timely recording is done by nurses,
anesthetists and surgeons.
· Investigate and document all sentinel events occurring in the OR.
· Ensure proper management of patients in PACU constantly monitoring the clinical pathways of post-op management.
Professional Requirements and Interpersonal skills:
· Follow the nursing organizational structure in formal
communications.
· Must be registered with Egyptian Syndicate or registering body of
her country of origin.
· Registration membership with Association of Theatre Nurses an
advantage.
·
Good communique capabilities and laptop literacy
necessary.
Must speak Arabic and English and be able to do documentation in
both languages.
Competency:
Education:
· BSN
or other (had nursing degree with more than 10 years of experience in OR
managerial position) preferable those who have internationally accredited
Nursing Science qualification.
· Post graduate qualification in Theatre Technique desirable.
Experience:
· At least 10 years’ experience, 5 of which must be in a management
position.
· Professional development in all areas of Theatre Tech.
