Job Description Department: Nursing Title: Hospital Nurses Supervisor

Job summary:
To effectively coordinate and supervise nursing services to ensure delivery of quality client care within the (HOSPITAL NAME) The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that patient care is coordinated and managed appropriately. The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that patient and family care services are delivered appropriately and for the supervision of nursing staff within the hospital.
Responsibilities and duties:

Receive report from House Nursing Supervisor of the previous
shift (Day or Night) at the beginning of the shift.
·
Make proper allocation of the nursing staff on the hospital
units and floors in accordance with the pre-determined nurse: patient ratio,
number of cases and the patient acuity level.
·
Deploy staff to the various clinical areas.
·
Liaise with Head Nurse and area Supervisors.
·
Have a briefing session with CNO and ACNO prior to starting rounds and on
completion of clinical rounds.
·
Supervise and ensure the implementation of evidence based
care in accordance with the Hospital Policy and international standards of
nursing practice.
·
To act as a Coordinator among nursing gadgets and flooring making sure powerful and green nursing management processes.
·
Liaise within the medical department team and other care to
facilitate effective evidence based clinical outcomes.
·
Act as a management and clinical advisor to nursing staff and
to aid with their development.
·
Support and participate in the development of the philosophy,
objectives and policies of the Nursing Department.
·
Ensure that all nursing staff know and understand the vision
and mission statement of (HOSPITAL NAME)
·
Ensure conformity with all hospital policies and standards of
practice.
·
Collaborate with support services and guest relations to
facilitate a service of excellence.
·
Make rescheduling and change of schedule for the nursing
staff according to the regulations of the nursing department.
·
Sign and follow up the treatment form of the nursing and
nurse aid staff and approve the sick leave and compassionate leave in
coordination with the ACNO and CNO
·
Prepare the computerized nursing supervisor shift report and
send it on daily basis to the top management and the concerned employees.
· Participate in
the investigation and reply on the guest relation feedback and the incident
report of the nursing department in cooperation with the nurse educators.
· Counsel staff with the Head Nurse when necessary and document the incidence.
Clinical Governance:
·
Monitor document and check out all sentinel events.
·
Is responsible for ensuring patient safety protocols.
·
Coordinate in Code blue events and document same on the code
blue record.
·
Do scientific rounds, go to sufferers and cope with affected person complaints.
·
Ensure documentation is executed effectively in keeping with the clinic policy.
·
Facilitate procedures and protocols of patient transfers to
other institutions in side Egypt or overseas.
Must have adequate knowledge of the following policies:
1) Code Blue Policy
2) Disaster Policy.
3) Fire and safety Policy.
4) Patient Transfer Policy, including SOS.
5) All Capital Policy (Discharge against medical advice).
6) (List not limited to the above policies).

non-conformities / opportunities for improvement.
Competencies:
Education:
·
BSN or associate Nursing Science.
·
Post graduate training in Leadership an advantage.
· Registration with the Egyptian Syndicate mandatory. Must be registered with Nursing Council/Association in country of origin.
Experience:
· At least 3-5 years’ experience with minimum 2 years’ experience in supervisory or equivalent position.
